Rachel Boettner

Office Manager

Rachel started at Music4Kids at the age of 17 as an accompanist for our kids choir shortly after we opened our very first location in 2000.  Soon she was working in administration plus teaching piano and Kindermusik.  She left us after several years to begin raising and home schooling her family of six. We are delighted to announce that her family is thriving and ready to loan her to us again on Mondays - Thursdays  from 2:00-6:00 as our office manager.  Her role includes managing our calendar, helping families to enroll or make any necessary changes to their membership, and responding to phone calls and emails.  If you need anything, she is here to help!

Lydia Farrugia

Student Assistant

Lydia Farrugia is the daughter of Jennifer Farrugia, our violin and Kindermusik teacher.  She works several mornings a week keeping Music4Kids clean and germ free.  She also supports our teachers and office staff by performing tasks such as laminating, binding music books, folding concert programs, and other important tasks that need to be done.

Carly Kaus

Marketing Specialist

Carly grew up in a musical family, where road trips and holidays were always filled with the sounds of James Taylor and Nat King Cole—her parents' favorites. Now, as a first-time mom to a little boy who loves music, she’s having lots of fun sharing the joys of music with him.

She received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from George Fox University, and with several years of great marketing experience, Carly has a passion for helping local businesses thrive. You’ll often find her helping at the front desk or snagging some fun photos and videos around the studio. Feel free to introduce yourself—and if you have a dog, she’d love to see pictures as she's a huge dog lover!

"Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge." ~Simon Sinek

Teachers and staff at Music4Kids have worked together to identify these core values that guide
all our decisions, activities, and interpersonal relationships:

Warm, Welcoming, Caring Community. We are a warm and caring community that likes to
have fun, to celebrate successes, and collaborate together as we experience the joy of shared
music making and learning.

• Highest Levels of Character. We strive for personal excellence, being committed to
continued personal improvement, professionalism, honesty, integrity and mutual respect for
one another, our students, and their families.

• Consistent, Prompt Communication. We commit to quickly respond to communication
from each other, our students, and their families with accurate information, kindness, and
encouragement.

• Personalized, Structured, Classical Musical Foundation. We provide a structured,
personalized music education with a classical foundation. As their musical skills mature, we
help each student to build upon this foundation, equipping each one to excel at playing their
chosen musical style(s

• Consistent and Effective Curriculum. We work together as teachers to curate, develop,
and agree upon an effective, consistent curriculum for every instrument. Instruction focuses
on foundational skills and music theory with progressive mastery through method books and
supplemental music of interest to the student.

• Positive and Uplifting Music. We vet all the music that we use in our curricula and lessons
to make sure the lyrics and the emotional impact of the music is age appropriate, positive,
and uplifting. We are aware that the music that students learn in our lessons becomes part
of their personal mental playlist. We only teach music that we would want our students to
be singing in their heads for life.

Kind Words from Music4Kids Families

We have been attending Kindermusik for over 5 years now, and my girls love the classes and their teacher.  She is wonderful with all of the kids, and so patient! Music is really important to me, and through Kindermusik, my daughters are discovering their love of everything music related. I can't say enough good things about this program!

Music4kids has been absolutely amazing. I would recommend to anybody for any child of any age. Instructors have been kind and patient and worked with our schedule. And my son absolutely loves it!

Our time at Music4Kids goes way beyond music lessons! Our children learn great character traits like hard work, group setting etiquette, perseverance etc. all while having fun. We take Kindermusik as well as private lessons and each one is a blessing to our family. We highly recommend the time and financial investment.
